Tom Kracauer is a graphic designer and printmaker. He received a BA cum laude from Carleton College, and a MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, where he was the Director of the Print Media Lab Winter/Spring 2015. He was formally the assistant printer at Cirrus Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. He currently works at Clockshop in Frogtown as Art Director.

Prior to pursuing an MFA in graphic design, Tom worked as a studio intern at Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis. He assisted printers Cole Rogers, Zac Adams-Bliss, and Joanne Price on fine art editions for a variety of renown artists working in a combination of traditional and contemporary printmaking media.

Among his recent exhibition designs are the modular and mating display kiosks and signage for PopUps!LA at The Music Center in Downtown Los Angeles, the inaugural installation of the Orientation Experience at The Museum at Eldridge Street, at the historic Eldridge Street Synagogue in New York, the nationally acclaimed retrospective Deborah Sussman Loves Los Angeles! at the Woodbury University Hollywood Gallery (2014), and Inbox at CalArts (2013).

Tom has created digital exhibitions on the California artists the Los Angeles Fine Arts Squad (www.lafineartsquad.com) and Environmental Communications (environmentalcommunications.info) that both explore the documentary potential of interactive digital archives.
